The word you were looking for is 'piqued'
From OneLook dictionaries (http://www.onelook.com/):

peaked
(adj.) having or rising to a peak (Example: "The peaked ceiling")

piqued
(tr.v.) To provoke; arouse (Example: "The portrait piqued her curiosity")
